Martin completed his Bachelor’s Degree of Music with a concentration in Studio Music and Jazz Performance at the University of Tennessee in 2006. While at UTK he recorded as a drummer and percussionist for BBC Classical, HGTV, and performed as a member of the winning ensemble in the international ITA Small Jazz Competition. Martin has worked in big bands, cruise ships, and theaters quite literally around the world and has years of experience as a working drummer in night clubs, studios, musical theater, and various corporate events playing with internationally acclaimed artists from the US, UK and Australia including Regis Philbin, Jeri Sager, Ian Cooper, Peter Cousens, Carme Pitrello, Iris Williams, Elliot and Ian Finkel, Geraldine Doyle, Gail Nelson-Holgate, Karen Saunders, Cecil Welch, Clint Holmes, Charlie Morris, Donald Brown, Wilfred Middlebrooks Clifford Curry and Zim Ngqawana. Martin has both private and public school teaching experience in many area schools including Midway High School, Rockwood High School, Lenoir City High School, Wartburg City Schools, Roane County High School, and Northwest Middle School. He can be heard playing a wide variety of music every week in the Knoxville area and works as a freelance drummer and educator in many east Tennessee theaters, churches, performance venues and schools.
